Received UK D&AD Award 2008

Machiya Office received the YellowPencil at the UK's D&AD Awards 2008 .
This was the only award received in the "ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN / Workplace" category among applications from around the world.
The D&AD Awards is a prestigious European design award that has been held since 1963, and this year only 64 Yellow Pencils were awarded out of 25,000 entries.
In addition to our company, other recipients of the award include Apple, Sony, UNIQLO, and Nintendo.
I wasn't able to attend, but the awards ceremony, which is held every year in a large venue in London and welcomes 1,800 guests, is said to be just like the Oscars. Apparently, displaying short, thick pencil-shaped trophies at the reception desk is considered a status symbol for designers.
