| A light-filled gabled home in snow country

Slit is a wooden house located in the inland area of Murakami City, Niigata Prefecture, in an area subject to heavy snowfall.
The house is composed of a collection of small boxes, each with its own independent roof, which come together to form a single gabled house.

| Light of change brought about by slits in the roof

Through the slits between the boxes, natural light streams in, changing from moment to moment, giving character to the space.
The rhythm of the structure and the rhythm of the light overlap, creating a rich range of shadows in everyday life.

| Comfortable floor heating for cold regions

For heating, we use a heat storage floor heating system that utilizes nighttime electricity.
Even during harsh winter temperatures, the entire building is gently heated to create a comfortable indoor environment without relying on air conditioning.
