Polygons
12 insulating polygons floating on the plateau
| A paneled villa open to the mountain scenery
Polygons is a weekend home built on a gentle south-facing slope close to the Kiyosato Plateau.
Located in a location overlooking Mount Fuji, the Northern Alps, and the Yatsugatake Mountains on all sides, the building is made up of 12 factory-fabricated insulated panels.
| Panel structure creates a lightweight, high-performance exterior
The building will be constructed using an insulated panel with a 105mm core sandwiched between structural plywood as its basic unit, and will be assembled on site by inserting triangular intermediate members into the joints and fixing the angles.
The inside of each panel is filled with insulation material, achieving high insulation and airtightness. The entire exterior is finished with a waterproof coating, making it seamless between the roof and the wall.
| Opening operation to dilute the boundary
By inserting fixed windows into the gaps other than the panels, the outside scenery is drawn inside, blurring the boundary between inside and outside.
The ventilation openings are finished in the same way as the walls, giving careful detailing that does not disrupt the rhythm and appearance of the entire façade.
