DeuxFle downfall
Changing expressions created by light and reflection
| The ever-changing expression created by the texture of the tiles
DeuxFle Shimo-Ochiai is a project in which we supervised the design of the exterior and common areas of the apartment complex.
For the exterior, inexpensive 45mm double-hung tiles are used, and the pattern is created by combining two types of white gloss and matte tiles.
The pattern is barely visible from the front, but depending on the weather and time of day, the sky is reflected on the gloss tiles, revealing the hidden pattern and changing the appearance of the building.
| Entrance space where light interferes
At the top of the stairs in the entrance, a lighting effect is created on the wall using three-color RGB LED spotlights.
Three colored stripes of different depths overlap on the simple striped surface, interfering with each other to create a "moiré effect of light."
This expression is an expansion of the idea behind my previous artwork, "Playing Light."
| Material composition that combines a refreshing feel with depth
The entire building is based on a white theme, with the deep color of Corten steel used as an accent.
It expresses a sense of presence as an urban apartment complex that combines a refreshing feel with a sense of solidity.
