Court

A courtyard home with outdoor stairs and hallways

| A house built on a flagpole site with no hallways or stairs

Court is a home for a family of five built on a flagpole-shaped lot.
Within the challenging conditions of a building coverage ratio of 40% and being surrounded by neighboring houses on all sides, we came up with a thoroughly rational spatial composition to achieve both maximum living space and a good living environment.

| The choice to create a house with only rooms

This house has no interior stairs or hallways.
By locating all elements related to traffic flow and movement outside, the design ensures the maximum amount of living space within a limited volume without impacting on the building area.

| The distance between family members connected through external connections

Family members have to go outside to go between each other's rooms.
However, this means that the entire home can be seen from the stairs and hallways, making it possible to always feel the presence of family members.
This “outside” area, surrounded by concrete walls, is a quiet and rich shared space where gazes and presences intersect.

| The modern family, where individuality and sharing coexist

While each has its own independent space, they are not completely closed off and are gently connected as one "place"—
This house, which carefully weaves together family relationships, presents a new way of living as a "collective" in the modern era.
